Visit to Governmental Naturopathy Hospital

One of the field experiences I chose was my visit to the Public Governmental Naturopathy University Hospital. During this visit, we were taught under the guidance of Dr.Sandeep S who presented a lecture on the naturopathy treatment modalities.Dr.Sandeep discussed various healing methods that are used in naturopathy such as hydrotherapy, iris diagnosis, chromotherapy, and acupuncture which are pictured below. Prior to beginning our tour around the university hospital, we had the chance to experience acupuncture and learn about the benefits it entails along with the history and role that it plays in naturopathy. While on our site visit, we visited the main mud room where the fertile mud is fermented, cleansed, and prepared in order to be used in remedial treatments for patients. As a public governmental teaching hospital, I was surprised at how many services they were able to provide free of cost for the many patients that lived in the city. Treatments such as Chromotherapy, Public and private sauna rooms, spinal water jet massage chairs, and even basic physical therapy machines and procedures were freely accessible to citizens. Although the differences in India's and The United States public health care system are very notable and diverse, It was very impactful to meet patients and hear their stories during their visit as they told us how much these services have helped to heal them, relieve them and their family members from the pressure of caring for someone who is suffering and the increase in vitality- all free of cost.
